It’s been a minute since I’ve updated y’all. SORRY. I mean, I complain + post things on stories daily, so I feel like y’all get it there too 😉 BUT I felt the need to make things more officially and get another update up on the blog here. So here I am. Also, second pregnancy and keeping track of things ain’t no joke. With Blake I literally had belly pics every week + all the things and this time I’m like oh, shoot, belly pic at 15 weeks, then 24 weeks, HA! Sorry little bud. 😉 So let’s see, first things first and some thoughts and things happening and then I’ll jump more into the Q+A part of things.
If you’ve followed me on instagram stories – you’re aware that well, I’ve had reallll bad sciatica. It ain’t no joke and probably one of the top most painful things I’ve felt, like literally makes my legs numb and brings me to the ground sometimes. ANYWAYS, I’ve been seeing my father in law, who happens to be a chiropractor for that, 1-2X a week and it’s made a difference, it’s not totally gone, but it’s make the pain a little more manageable and a lot less frequent. So that’s been nice, I think it’s just one of those things I’m going to have this whole pregnancy and have to push through it! Let’s see what else – my anxiety the last couple of weeks has kind of kicked my butt, not sure why but you know – hormones I’m sure and just that’s me. But I’ve gotten all stressed out a few times and gone down the “worst possible things to happen” hole like 5 times with this whole cord thing. Soo I am working on that and just having faith that things are going to be fine, I mean – God has gotten us this far in our IVF journey, I’ve got to trust that he knows best at this point.
On a brighter note, Blake has been freaking cute lately though with my belly. Everyday at some point, she will come up and just rub it or talk to him and say things like “Baby brother loves to cuddle Mama” and it literally melts my heart. She’s going to be the best big sister. I remember being so worried about the age gap because it’s going to be close to 4.5 years in between, but the closer and closer we get, I just feel great about it. She’ll be a great helper and understand things more and I know she’s going to just swoon over him.
Okay, now let’s Q+A it up y’all! I asked y’all for your questions on insta-stories, so I’ll answer a few of them below!
Q: Any birth goals set?
A: Basically, just get baby out safely. 😉 HA! Since I do have this velamentous cord insertion, I feel like my goals have shifted a lot. Before hand I really wanted to try and go into labor on my own (not be induced, because I was with Blake and the recovery was freaking hard), but that’s not an option now, unless I go early because they won’t let me go past a certain point. Sooo really, just make it through it 😉 HA
Q: What do you do for energy?!
A: Starbucks and I are BFFs. HA! My doc told me it’s fine in moderation (obviously ask yours), but y’all know I love my Strawberry Acai Refreshers from there and they’re life saving as far as energy goes.
Q: How are you managing the heat this summer?
A: Great question, so far as little clothes as possible. 😉 Hahahah. Seriously though, I’m currently typing this out in shorts and a sports bra because it’s 90 degrees outside and even with the A/C on indoors I’m freaking hot. It’s going to be a LONGGG summer.
Q: Have you had any swelling yet?
A: Not yet, but with Blake I didn’t really until the last few weeks. However this pregnancy has been night and day different soooo who knows what will happen.
Q: Best place for dresses this summer for pregnancy?!
A: I’ve gotten a tonnn from Target and honestly, most aren’t maternity, I just size up.
Q: Favorite places to shop for your babe?
A: H+M and then little instagram shops I’ve found (lulu + roo, childhoods clothing, etc.)
Q: DO YOU HAVE A NAME?
A: The most common asked question – Y’ALL, WE ARE 95% SURE ON A NAME. HA! YAY! We will share when he is born.
Q: Did you choose a name that a follower suggested?
A: I honestly don’t remember if this name was on the list of suggestions you guys gave, but it’s actually one of the first names we came up with together when we found out he was a boy, just weren’t sure on it then but have kind of fallen in love with it.
Q: How long did you wait before seeking treatment for infertility?
A: So with Blake we started fertility treatments about 10 months after trying, most wait a year, we started a little earlier just because we already knew I had PCOS and the doctor was fine with making other arrangements. With this pregnancy, we went straight into fertility treatments.
Q: How many weeks are you?
A: I’ll be 25 weeks on Sunday!
Q: Pregnancy pillow recommendations?!
A: So I actually got this Dr. Brown’s two in one and LOVEEEE it.
Q: Did you find a belly band/belt you like?
A: YES! SO I tried a couple of them and really liked both, but especially love this one, here, from Baobei Maternity. They’re just soft and stretchy, but still gives support!
