Does anyone else feel like life has been on fast forward for the last several months? I’m not going to lie, I’m basically drowning over here and counting down the days to summer. You know, in hopes that things will slow down, but realistically they’ll probably stay just as crazy. 😉 This past weekend especially, with Easter weekend, it was like one thing, get in the car, go to another, eat dinner, Easter egg hunt, run to another family’s house, etc. NON STOP. Today, is well, no different. BUT we get to see baby boy today in our big anatomy scan and I’m really excited for that. Especially because Marcus gets to come, and I think besides at the beginning at the infertility clinic, this is the first time he will see him! Which – side note – he felt him kick the other day for the first time!!
Anyway, between all the chaos, school drop offs, activities (and the realization that it’s only going to get worse and busier, especially as Blake gets older), we’ve come across a new favorite on-the-go snack. SO, I wanted to share that with y’all too. You’ve all probably heard of Earth’s Best®. Well, they have a new product, “Organic Sesame Street Peanut Butter Puffs,” and the big red Elmo on the front of the packaging totally caught Blake’s attention in the beginning 😉 Smart marketing, mkay. And, they’re actually really good, HA. Like, so good that Marcus and I were secretly eating them last night too! They’re so CONVENIENT and y’all know I live my life about convenience. They come in a portable bag and are available at select retailers nationwide. You can hop on over to this link here to learn more about the puffs, and click here when you’re ready to purchase some! They puffs are currently available at Walmart and Whole Foods. A quick rundown: they’re made with 5 simple ingredients (including real peanut butter), they’re certified gluten free, USDA Organic and there’s no added sugar, artificial flavors, color or preservatives. So it’s a GOOD, convenient snack that well, Blake loves and that’s rare these days. Along with her ever so changing outfits 😉 Y’all saw that on Instagram, right?
I think we’ve (hopefully – cross your fingers) tackled that battle of meltdowns every morning from not having “the right clothes.” We went through her closet last week and she kept ONLY things she likes and WILL wear. It’s been 3 days, and so far she’s gotten dressed every morning without one fit. But I’m not jumping up and down yet, HA. Don’t want to jinx it.
I did quickly want to share some ways we keep balance though, are preppin’ for baby boy and, you know, handling the chaos and fast paced life around us, besides just Blake’s favorite current snack. 😉 Though that’s basically key to getting us anywhere peacefully. HA So, I’m going to share a few things below that work for us:
- Family Calendar: We have a big calendar by the garage door that lists everything our family has to do. This way Marcus can add things and look at it and I can do the same. It’s seriously our saving grace.
- Lists: I have lists everywhere and honestly, this is probably more so for me, but I feel like the important ones are helpful for M too. He’s seeing it and I’m not blindsiding him with “honey do lists.” For example, the things we need to get + need to do before baby boy gets here are all listed out on the fridge. Then we cross them off as we do them!
- Mondays: They’re our grocery shopping days. It’s consistent, easy, then I’m making sure we are stocked on things for the week and it gives me a chance to grab what I need for dinners that week. Plus, I use a grocery delivery service so I can do it on my phone really quick the night before, then they bring it to me in the morning and that’s game changing.
- Rolling with the Punches: Honestly, we have a few things that work for us in keeping organized, but most of all realizing there’s going to be a lot of hiccups. Most nights, dinner will be quick and easy, and accepting it – that’s the best thing we can do. 😉
Share your favorite things that work for your family in the chaotic times!!
