This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Albertsons on Broadway. The opinions and text are all mine.
So last week my sister and I wrangled our kids and headed out for a fun night with Albertsons. They opened their new location on Broadway in Boise and we got the opportunity to get a “first look” peek at their opening party. Which also included sampling ALL THE THINGS. If you remember on my insta-story then you remember the gelato, the marshmallows, literally all the deliciousness, also did you mention I only named two examples of well…the treats? I mean what else did you expect me to mention? 😉 You know I’m all about that treat life.
ANYWAYS, it started off a little rough because well KIDS. Actually, I should say kid, one plural, my friggin’ one year old nephew was a champ. It was my kid…whoops. No joke, the minute we walked in, she had a meltdown about needing a “baby cart”, then once we got over that hurdle and they were so nice and gave her a cart, she was upset because we couldn’t actually shop and buy things and you know, just one thing after another. Then we proceeded to spill her little Starbuck’s drink she got, all over the floor and then….her popcorn. In this nice BRAND NEW Albertsons with all these fancy people and I’m just standing there covered in Caramel Frappuccino next to my screaming kid. So…there was that.
Luckily, like I said SAMPLES PEOPLE and after abut 20 minutes we were eventually able to pull ourselves together from total hot mess to “mess”, as I pushed around the baby cart she so badly wanted and she sat in the big cart with my nephew that my sister was pushing. BUT SHE WASN’T SCREAMING ANYMORE SO I DIDN’T EVEN CARE. She was just stoked that she was getting cheese, crackers, pretzels, truffles, gelato, salami, literally all the things to eat and was basically in food heaven.
Now, let’s talk about the store because priorities people, now that I got that story out of the way. The store was literally stunning! In fact it reminded me of the Safeway we visited in Oakland when I was there last week for another fun Albertsons thing! There was a Starbucks, a place to sit and eat, a grill with hot food to choose from, a gelato station – seriously stunning. In fact if I was back at Boise State (which is right down the street) I would be going there everyday to study. Their selection is huge and I love that they literally have “the best from their own backyard”. They really aim to give center stage to their local Idaho farmers and it’s shown – I love supporting local like that! There’s also a lot of international items to choose from which is hard to find! AND there’s a home decor section that literally my sister and I are going back to, tomorrow because I have my heart set on the cookie jars I saw there. The whole store is just beautiful like I said and really a one stop place to shop between their bulk items selection (which is huge), their everyday household items and huge variety of items like produce, deli, etc.
If you’re local run over and check it out! It opened on Saturday and seriously is a must see! And you know you’re adulting hardcore when you’re this excited, but it’s fine, no shame.
