It feels like everyday now that I am getting a little bit older, I learn how important family is. It’s not that I’ve really ever not known, but it’s almost like it’s starting to actually click now. Like I am realizing how much “things” don’t matter, but moments do. Life is just too dang fast and now that it’s flying by before me I’m hitting this “oh crap” realization and now I just want it to slow the heck down. Yesterday before we went to church we stopped by a park nearby and just spend a few minutes together. It wasn’t anything crazy or long, but we ate popchips, Blake and I ran back and forth on the bridge, we swung on the swinging bench and well, it was perfect. Even Blake destroying her boots in the mud, was perfect (note one of the pictures she no longer has shoes on, HA!). It’s just the moments, spending time together.
I wish we had more moments to just spend time together, but life is busy and well, work has to happen. HOWEVER, football season brings a lot of gatherings and get togethers and I love that. So really, between the recent holidays and now this, I’m excited to be with all my people all day, all the time. Even if it might be over a little yelling, loud chaos of the game and well, food, all the food 😉 Which guys – have you had popchips? Because they’re so friggin’ good. Actually, when I got the package in the mail from them I was cracking up because no joke we got like 15 bags of chips and I thought, oh my gosh this is so many chips. BUT, it’s seriously perfect because FOOTBALL SEASON and I kind of fell in love with them after trying the first bite…sooo win, win. The Sea Salt ones are my fav 😉 Marcus prefers BBQ, but I mean we won’t judge him for that, HA! Kidding.
Some fun facts on popchips though and why it’s actually okay that I eat them all the time. They’re a line of popped potato chips that are NEVER fried and always made with real ingredients. They have tons of different flavors (like Zesty Jalapeno Pepper, Buffalo Ranch Ridges and more) and they go perfect with everything, so will pair ours with burgers, hot dogs and veggies for game day. I mean, you really can’t go wrong with that combination. Oh and all the Dr. Pepper because Mama needs one excuse to drink it every once in awhile still. 😉 Certain flavors are non-GMO, they’re gluten free, kosher, don’t contain anything artificial, basically all the good things.
So bring on game day, bring on family time and bring on creating moments that last a heck of a lot longer than well “things”! Here’s to making this year count.
