I have lots of friends that are currently pregnant or just had babes and well I thought it would be fun to show a little DIY basket to give the new Mamas! I think this stigma comes with infertility that you have to just be depressed, locked up in a room and not celebrate your friends little miracles. And while yes, it hurts a little — I’ve been trying really hard to remember that I am allowed to be sad, to feel hurt but I can still celebrate with them and be happy for them. SO I started making these little baskets each time as a way for me to do something nice and remind myself just that. Plus, i include the pre-natal vitamins that I friggin’ love (and have been taking for what feels like 10 years now ;))
Here’s what you’ll need for the basket (and obviously you can change and add items as you want!):
- A basket (obviously)
- Nature Made® Prenatal Multi + DHA
- A little clothing item
- Bath items
- Hand sanitizer
- Baby Book (this is kind of my “BIG” congrats present)
This part is obviously easy, but just throw it together in the basket, make it cute and add a little personal touch with a card or what not. Then leave it on their porch or drop it by next time you see them!
Now, these totally don’t have to be over the top expensive. I like to hit the dollar section of stores, even give little samples that the stores have in different lotions and bath items, but I always do the pre-natals because well, I’ve tried a LOT through all my infertility and having Blake and these are by far my favorite ones. Plus, fun fact – did you know you should start taking pre-natals 6 months before you get pregnant? So naturally I’ve been taking them FOREVER. 😉 So I’ll share some fun facts with you on them:
+ First, take with food or at night after dinner, before you go to bed. That’s generally when I take mine!
+ Nature Made Prenatal Multi + DHA provides essential vitamins and minerals (before and during pregnancy) including Folic Acid, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Iodine, Vitamin B12, and Vitamin D3†
+ They’re also free from synthetic dyes, yeast or starch, no artificial flavors, they’re gluten free and are clinically proven absorption of Folic Acid (an important B Vitamin) and Iron.
+ You can grab them at Sam’s Club or Sam’s Club online
