I can’t believe that summer is going to be over before I know it. I feel like it just started, I feel like Blake just turned two and now there’s like a month left and then it’s fall clothes and all the fall things. BUT guys, I am not even complaining because if I am being honest — FALL IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE. I love fall so much and if I had the choice, it would be fall all year long. Okay, anyways — probably don’t get me started on fall or else this post will turn into 20,000 words. Since summer is going to come to an end here before we know it, I’ve been trying to soak in all that we can, enjoying the outdoors and doing all the fun family things. Which includes well all the picnics. We had three just last week and it was the best.
Plus, since it is almost back to school season, I’ll share a look into our latest picnic’s “lunchbox” for you to check out all the goodies for your back to school babe’s lunches. I love picnics though because one, they’re free and I’m all about free things. Two, they get Blake’s energy out because she can run around like crazy and three, it’s quality family time outdoors which I love. I’ve really been trying to work on that, which ya’ll know because I talk about it every five minutes, but it’s seriously been on my heart lately and I want to make sure I am focusing on the things that truly matter especially because Blake is just growing up way too fast right before my eyes.
This last picnic was super special, we actually had it in the lavender fields after we took family pictures and it was pretty sweet. Blake ran around like crazy, picked quite a bit of lavender (sorry lavender field people) and watched all the bees buzzing around. It’s so interesting because the bees on the field honestly, couldn’t care less about you. They’re just there workin’ away and minding their own business. Now for the our “dinner” if you will, I actually got the cutest little containers at Target, here, as well as all our other snacks. I packed PB&J (because you can’t go wrong with that) and used Santa Cruz Organics Strawberry spread and PB, which I highly recommend. It was seriously the best peanut butter and jelly sandwich I have ever had. With the PB&J we also had Horizon cheese crackers and cut up strawberries. Then I was a super fun Mom because well…when am I not? 😉 AND I brought Horizon milk with Santa Cruz Organics chocolate syrup to make on the spot chocolate milk! It might have just won me some serious points in the Mom department because Blake friggin’ loved that idea. The ground also loved it….eeekk, because I would say about 60% of hers ended up on the ground. Whoops.
It was perfect though you guys and look at these lavender fields, GORGEOUS right?! Can we take family photos there every night or at least just picnic there every night? How would you like to have those in your backyard (they’re literally in someone’s backyard)? 😉 Now, go practice your lunch makin’ skills with Horizon and Santa Cruz products and get yourself outside for a few more picnics before school starts!
