Everyday I try and do something “educational” with Blake. My sister is a teacher, so she is always giving me tips and tricks of things she should be doing and learning. At her age right now she is such a little sponge that she literally soaks everything in, so I figure hey what better time? Plus her memory y’all, like it’s unreal. I can’t even remember what I did this morning let alone the things she remembers from a month ago. I’ve had several of y’all ask what our favorite things to do are, as far as teaching and activities, so I figured I would just do a full blog post on one of our favorite sites with all the fun features it offers and how we use it!
Plus, I am giving away a big subscription to the site for a year, so make sure you make it all the way to the bottom of this post. 😉
The site is called Twinkl and it’s a website dedicated to giving you resources, activities and information that’ll help your babes learn. They literally change lives by providing instant access to a complete range of teacher created, engaging and inspiring materials to support learning from birth and it goes all the way up to adulthood. Right now I am obviously focusing on the age 0-5 category for Blake, but every week we will pick one of the activities and take 5-10 minutes a day (because that’s all her little attention span can handle) and do the activity. This week we are working on one of the edible play activities. You guys, it’s seriously full of so many things to do for them, that keep them engaged and their little brains working! There are look and find posters you can print off, signing time videos, songs and rhyming, busy bag recipes and seriously so much, like those things I covered doesn’t even cover a quarter of the amount of options they have for little ones. As you start getting older they have specific categories (history, english, etc.) that you can focus on and tips and tricks to helping them learn different sections. I’m actually a little disappointed I didn’t have this for myself as a kid. Plus…it’s kind of a teacher’s dream (*cough* teachers *cough*) because they can grab things directly on there and then direct their kids there for extra help as needed.
I’m going to say Blake’s favorite thing so far was probably the play-doh recipe and the Look and Find Dinosaur poster. She’s just really obsessed with “baby dinosaurs” right now (I have no clue where she learned it) so anything dinosaur and she’s ALL in. It’s been really good for both us though because it requires me to step back from whatever I’m doing and spend quality time with my babe and then it gives her brain a little “work out” 😉
Well I got y’all somethin’ good sooo you’re welcome 😉 BUT seriously, Twinkl created a FREE download pack for this summer for your babes! It’s totally free, just sign up and download it by clicking the picture below!
