I try really hard to you know, be a fun Mom most days, though work and life generally gets in the way of my “cool Mom” status, so I’m usually scrambling to make up for it in one way or another. Earlier this week we got a fun package to throw an Elephant & Piggie party to celebrate 10 years of the Elephant & Piggie books! So naturally I put on my game face because y’all know I love a good party and I threw the most fun Mom party I could. We brought Blake’s stuffed piggy in on the fun, Howie and Doc played and it was seriously so fun. Though I should probably go ahead and apologize to my kid for her lack of friends because of my lack of social skills and overworking-ness. Sorry Blake. Instead we’re just besties and we bring her pups and stuffed animals in on the fun, I mean, what’s wrong with that? She friggin’ loved it. Also, you know you’re a “cool Mom” when she wants to wear the party hat all week long. 😉 WINNING!
Have you seen the Elephant & Piggie books though? Guys, they’re the cutest and were actually a hit in our household before we even got the chance to celebrate, so Blake was pretty stoked. But for those not familiar, the books are pretty cute and show the adventures of well, Elephant and Piggie. Also, not only are we celebrating their 10 years, but their new book as part of their “Elephant and Piggie Like Reading!” series. It’s called The Good for Nothing Button and it’s by Charise Mericle Harper. Blake and I read it during our party, obviously and well, she was a fan and guys, I was a fan!! It’s a cute little book and honestly, it’s nice to enjoy a book that I’m going to read 200 times over with her. 😉 Am I right?
