I can’t even believe that it’s been two weeks since our first Momday Conference. My mind is blown and my heart is so full. Dani and I figured it was best to do a quick recap on the event since well, not all of y’all live in Utah! This way you can see how it went down, grab details on it all and well, hopefully make it to our next one 😉
About a year ago Dani and I had this idea to do a Mom conference. Like a day SPECIFICALLY for Moms? Being the best friend a girl could ask for, she jumped in full force and said yes! I’m not going to lie, every single time I throw an event I get totally terrified. What if no one comes? What if we fail? What if the idea isn’t good enough? You know, that stupid self doubt we all fill our minds with every once in awhile. I mean, it’s absolutely terrifying to put yourself out there like that, have the faith that it’s going to work and hope that everyone else will believe in you. Well…by some grace of God (and honestly, I give it all to him for making this happen), it happened! We teamed up with the most amazing sponsors; Fawn Design hosted the event with us and really made the whole thing possible, Cariloha made the tables absolutely breathtaking, Mountain America Credit Union went above and beyond taking care of everyone during the speakers portion, RubyClaire Boutique spoiled each Mama with KILLER swag that they went home with and our booths y’all, oh our booths, just wait until I talk about those.
From the moment you walked in, you checked in, took your seat and things were already breathtaking because well, The Startup Building (where we held it) is BEAUTIFUL and Cariloha killed it with our tables. Seriously, they were gorgeous, filled with greenery, beautiful menus from Moments Noted Paperie, Momday tumblers, notebooks to jot down thoughts and so much fun to come because of our host, Fawn Design. We had a yummy snack bar filled with quick snacks (chips, pretzels, granola bars, Pics Peanut Butter) for Moms to grab during! Once everyone was in, we started listening to speakers right away, thanks to Mountain America. I’m talkin’ the most amazing, inspirational speakers y’all. I honestly couldn’t help but feel like they were literally talking directly to me, it’s like they knew exactly what I needed to hear. Michelle Money started and spoke about her “Money Method” — which is incredible, join her Money Talks to get the scoop on it because people it doesn’t disappoint and you will walk away feeling like you can conquer the world. Next we had Jenny, from Fawn Design speak, she spoke on her business, how it started and how she balances it all, how she learns to take steps back and be okay with what’s happening. Her talking was so good for my soul, honestly, as a working Mom there were so many words in there that I just needed to hear. Then we were lucky enough to have Mom, Krystalina Brown grace us with her presence from Mountain America and chat about “Filling your Mom Account”. I think often as Moms we neglect our “Mom accounts”, we forget to do things for ourselves and take a step back. Kelly Jensen spoke next before dinner and oh my gosh, you guys I couldn’t even stop crying. I had tears in my eyes the entire time she spoke. She got real, shared the hard, hard, things she’s faced in her life, things a lot of us can relate to in some aspect or another, but she shared how she stays strong. She talked about how important it is to be in the now, to enjoy the now and how social media is actually a really good thing. For the final speaker we got to listen to Kayti Oldham from the BeYouty Bureau while we chowed down on dinner from Cafe Rio (taco bar anyone?!). She shared a glimpse into her battle with postpartum depression, how she battled it and how beauty brought so much joy to her life. She left us with the best of make up tips and tricks and well, lemme tell you — her product recommendations NEVER disappoint.
You guys, the speakers were friggin’ amazing. When Dani and I created this event we wanted every, single, Mom to leave feeling uplifted. We’re Moms, we get it — the days are long and some are better than others, but we wanted to make sure that as Moms, we all left feeling like it was okay, like we could handle this and with a reminder that we’re stronger and doing better than we think we are. I can honestly say that I think every, single, Mom went home with just that feeling, so I hope anyways. Here’s the thing though, we didn’t want it to stop just there. We wanted you to be spoiled for an entire day (well, half a day, we get it–you want some time with your babes ;)). So we made sure there was a delicious dinner there, we listened to speakers and then we rounded up the best of the best and put on the ultimate pamper party night!
Here’s how it went down; every single Mama attending received a lanyard, the lanyard had a badge on the end with a list of all the booths there. Each Mom would take her lanyard to that booth, do whatever service was happenin’ there and then they would hole punch their name marking it as “done”. Want to hear the booth line up we had?!
The Baked Bear: The MOST delicious ice cream sandwiches between two cookies of choice. They had several ice cream flavors to choose from and lots of yummy cookies to put your ice cream in between!
Make Up & Hair Bar: We had the most awesome ladies from Signature Brides and Design doing hair and make up there for each Mama to make sure they felt beautiful, confident and totally spoiled!
Hair Bar: Salon CoutureWe had a few lovely ladies from in Ogden and they killed it at the braid bar!
Slomo Booth: We had Busath Films there with such a fun slomo booth! Basically, it’s a video of yourself that they put in slomotion, like below and it’s friggin’ hilarious. They had props, confetti and way too much fun, even Blake loved it. 😉
Letter to Moms: Since every Mama had the chance to be totally uplifted, we wanted them to share it with their bestie that wasn’t able to come. So at this station, every Mom had the chance to write a letter to a Mom they loved! Plus there was really yummy Nothing Bundt Cake samples there too, so I mean….you probably couldn’t found me there most of the time 😉
Fiiz: I mean, who doesn’t love a good soda?! Fiiz had their truck there and lemme tell y’all, the line was insane it was such a hit! Every Mom got a drink of their choice in their fun Momday tumbler!
Make N’ Take Craft: We had to throw a fun craft in there, but super easy because let’s be real, Dani and I ain’t the craftiest. BUT, we had a super fun and simple, make and take bath salt booth and it was a big hit!
Meditation Station: The chance to relax, which is what pampering is all about! Micki from Upward Facing Micki was there teaching a quick and simple mediation, relaxation class.
We listened to 90’s music all night, got totally pampered and then every, single Mama went home with a huge swag bag thanks to Rubyclaire Boutique, STUFFED (and I mean stuffed) with so many good, goodies! Here’s a peek at what was inside every swag bag:
Rubyclaire Hat, Choker + Coupon / Cariloha Socks / Amika Hair Mask / Mountain America Bath Bomb + 5,000 MACU Points / Mam Toothbrush / Woven Pear Socks / Kevin Murphy Samples / Coupons from: White Gold, Nothing Bundt Cake, Flybird Apparel, Cariloha, Gathre, Seababy, Q Noor and Foodstirs
Oh…and did I also mention that we gave away three Fawn Design Bags stuffed with SO many goodies (Cariloha blanket, Silikids, Pediped shoes, Amazon Dot, Mark it with a Q Choker), a Rod Works gift basket and and Angelcare bathtub!?
Another HUGE shoutout to our sponsors for making this happen and a giant thank you (and I mean this) to every, single Mama who attended, who believed in Dani and I and who made this entire thing possible. I’m so grateful, it brings tears to my eyes, thank you for believing in us. Thank you to our amazing photographer who caught all of these pictures, Kelsie Emm Photography, The Confetti Creative for helping the decorations look BOMB and for every, single, volunteer who helped everything run smoothly!
