As you may have saw yesterday, I had an article featured on the Huffington Post. Honestly, I am still in shock, after blogging for more than 8 years, trying and failing, and working my butt off it was one of the most rewarding feelings I have ever felt. Literally, tears all day yesterday and ALL happy! Well, I came to learn something yesterday, in fact a pretty big life lesson I would say.
NO ONE ELSE MATTERS.
What?! Is your mind totally blown? Seriously though, here’s the thought, not everyone needs to like me. In fact, it really doesn’t matter if they do. I’ve dealt with mean comments for a long time, bullying since I was a kid if you’ll call it and I’ve always let it get to me. I’ve let it get under my skin and affect me in a negative way. Here’s the thing though–it doesn’t matter. You’re the only person that can define your happiness. I am a Mom now, I am a wife and I am the luckiest girl in the world. Nothing else matters. My beautiful daughter and this crazy, stressful, amazing life we live as a FAMILY is what matters.
I wrote a post on my Facebook page yesterday after reading hurtful comments, thinking if I just addressed the situation then I would feel better, empowered, but it was the opposite. I felt bad. I felt more stressed, worried and anxious. I didn’t like that feeling. I quickly took it down and realized that again, NO ONE ELSE MATTERS. I don’t have to prove myself to anyone. I don’t need to “call anyone out”, in fact that’s doing exactly what was done to me and that’s just silly.
Be nice, live your life and find happiness in all that you do. Make the best of the situations and focus on YOURSELF and your FAMILY because no one else or their opinion matters. In fact, you’re (I’m) the only one that matters. Me, my family and our happiness. Our trip to the fair yesterday, that’s what matters. The memories we made and the happiness I felt–now that’s what life is about.
Thanks for following along in my journey. I love you all more than you know. <3
