One thing I’m super thankful for is the relationship I have with my sisters now. We’re past the fighting over hair brushes and stealing each other’s clothes phase. For the most part 😉 Let’s be honest we still swap clothes. But I’m totally serious! How amazing is it to have two best friends, always by your side and that you’re related to?! It’s pretty great.
I remember watching this funny video before Blake was born about this crazy Aunt who was obsessed with her niece. She showed pictures of her to everyone, made her the screensaver on her phone, just totally head over heels. I died laughing while watching it because it 100% reminded me of both of my sisters. They’re obsessed with Blake just as much as I am. It’s absolutely the best. They come over as much as they can, “fight” to hold her and spoil her rotten. I wouldn’t change it for the world.
This might seem like a funny post to write, but I want Blake to look back and remember how loved she was, how loved she is. If she’s going through a hard time or having a bad day I want her to know that she has the biggest support system around her. We would all do anything for her. I was never super close to my Aunts, not because they were bad people, but because we lived in different states and only saw each other every few years. I hope we never move. I don’t want to say we won’t. Unfortunately I can’t. I don’t know what the future holds, but I hope we can all stay close. That we can have cousin play dates one day and sister bonding time often like we do now. Minus the cousin play dates part…since Blake is the only cousin. Ha!
I want Blake to know how important family is. That we stand up for each other no matter what, that even when we’re fighting we love one another more than words can describe.
I really want Blake to remember that I can be fun too. Even after a fun play date with your Aunts where they let you eat tons of sugar and buy you tons of toys. Don’t forget that little miss 😉 because we all know that’s bound to happen one of these days. I mean really that’s the entire role of an aunt anyway isn’t it?
Aunts, sisters, family in general are so special. I want to cherish it and hold onto it as long as I can, I know what it’s like to not always have everyone there. But enough about that, this post, this post is about Aunties everywhere. Their spoiling, silliness and positive attitudes that make those cute little babes feel more special than ever. So let’s celebrate them! Here’s to aunts!
