It’s been so warm here the last few days and well, I’m LOVING it! We’ve busted out the shorts, t-shirts and are packin’ our winter clothes away. Over this past weekend we had a mega spring cleaning party, but for our clothes. I mean, one could say I have a problem….but I just like to dress Blake cute, now where’s the problem in that? 😉 With cute clothes though comes a whole lot of packing when seasons change and as she grows. So I’m sharing a couple tips and tricks today to keeping our little one’s clothes stored in an organized way and I’m giving a little peek into Blake’s spring closet.
Shortly after our well, fifth box of clothing for Blake and her only being like 6 months old I decided I HAD to figure out a better solution. So here are the three things I do when organizing, going through and storing her clothes:
- Storage boxes are key: I started with cardboard boxes and quickly learned, well that was a mistake. Spend the money and grab the nice plastic boxes with lids. You can label them by sizing and fit a heck of a lot more clothes in them. My five boxes went down to two and I could stack them on top of one another in the garage because they’re sturdy.
- Donate. Don’t be afraid to get rid of some clothes. Obviously keep what you want, but remember, for future kids you’re most likely going to buy some new clothes, so it’s okay to get rid of some now! Plus you’re helping out another family, so make a donate pile and take it to a local donation center.
- Fold the clothes. I know, I know, by the time you’re actually putting them in boxes it’s been several hours and folding is the last thing you want to do, but just do it! It makes it so that one, they’re organized and two, you can fit everything in there!
Now that we’ve gotten through the storage tips and tricks, can we just talk about the cute new spring clothes Blake has in her closet?! Plus, same rule goes for you, you cleaned out their closet, now you get to fill it with all the cute OshKosh spring clothes! Blake has so many cute embroidered tops, play dresses, lightweight hoodies and well all the cute shorts and leggings from OshKosh B’gosh in her closet for this spring! They’re perfect for playtime, Easter egg hunts, play dates at the park and everything fun outdoors! I mean, we’ve literally been outside every single day since it’s been warm, sooo I don’t see that stopping anytime soon! So that fact that her clothes are cute and comfy is a big win in my book! Now, could someone make that happen for my clothes please? 😉
